Carol and Brad, You have our deepest sympathy. Losing a parent is very difficult. Your dad was such a force to be reckoned with - the kind we thought would live forever! He had a great personality and was always fun to be around. And , you never had to wonder how he stood on things -because he would tell you! Bob and I have treasured his friendship for so many years ( your mom's, too). Always the jokester- he made a wooden picture frame with a picture of Bob in front of a mountain outhouse - with appropriate captioning -that we still have hanging. His shoes will be hard to fill. Love and blessings on all your family. Jan and Bob sexton

We have had the pleasure of being Bunk’s neighbor for about 40 years. He was the first to welcome us when we moved in, and he snow plowed our driveway with his tractor after the heavy snowstorm of 1988. Always so willing to help others. He was a good man, and he will be missed. Prayers for his family.

Bunk was like a 2nd father to me & I have so many fond memories of him & our families spending time together. He was always quick with a joke or telling us kids to go play in the road ?. Always smiling & building something! I remember and always loved seeing our fathers together, playing golf, being a Shriner helping others or just sitting around the kitchen table laughing! The lifelong friendship & love they shared for each other was a beautiful thing to witness and the mountains of memories our families shared over the years will live on forever in our hearts! The foursome are now reunited in Heaven. Sending love & prayers! Kristi & David Farmer

Bunk loved people and talked to everyone. He would come in telling jokes and handing out his cards. He always had his dog with him and missed it terribly when it passed. I will remember Bunk as being a fun colorful character, dedicated to his country, and loving his family. I know he is happy to be reunited with June in Heaven. Bunk was a good man and will be missed.
Cynthia Fuhrman left a message on May 26, 2023:
Bunk would show up at my door around 6 and ask if I had had dinner yet. I'd say no, and he'd say, "Let's go!" We'd drive to Cataran's or Silver Bay, with Bogie getting petted on my lap, and have dinner. He would drive around telling me about different places in Greenville, since I am not from around here. Good times. I count it a privilege to have known him.

Tina Harris left a message on May 25, 2023:
Uncle Bunk was always so kind to me. When he found out I worked in the automotive business he would call to ask questions about different cars he was interested in and this went on over 10+ years. I last seen him in January when my grandmother passed (his sister Iris Hooper). As the family all gathered for lunch I was summoned to the front of the restaurant to discuss who was paying. When I said it was all covered and don’t you worry, I got the biggest hug and told you always have been such a good girl as we joined the others. Though many years would go before seeing one another he always remembered that I was “Little George’s daughter (my mom Donnie Hooper Martin). You will be missed dearly by so many but I know you are rejoicing in seeing your beautiful wife Carol again. With love Tina
