Anthony Joseph Scachetti, 99, of Greenville, husband of the late Florence Scachetti, died Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

Born in Leominster, MA he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Scachetti.

Mr. Scachetti was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a cost account manager for Platt Saco Lowell for 40 years.

Anthony is survived by his two daughters, Nancy Humphreys of Taylors, SC, and Nikki Darnell and her husband, Joseph of Anaheim, CA; one grandson, Brian Cash and his wife, Jamie of Simpsonville, SC; and two great granddaughters, Claire and Natalie of Simpsonville, SC.

Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Biddeford, ME.

I also met Tony at Bounce (Widows group) at Prince of Peace. It was a pleasure to know such a kind and humble man. My condolences to his family. Thanks for your service during WWII.

I did not know Mr. Scachetti. I recently acquired a flag that was flown over the capitol dedicated to him. Like my father who saw combat in WWII I was compelled to investigate who he was. The article about him written in the Greenville paper brought tears to my eyes. I plan to donate the flag along with his story to our local VFW post so they can fly the flag in his honor. RIP, Sir

Tony was one of the smartest men I have ever met! He knew everything or knew how to find the answer. I really am very thankful to have volunteered and knew this wonderful and amazing man! Rest In Peace Mr. Tony

Being a member of the widowed group BOUNCE at Prince of Peace, I had the pleasure of sitting next to him a few times. A kinder, gentle soft spoken gentleman I ever met. May he rest in peace & may his family know how fortunate they were to have a man like him in their family ??

Our deepest sympathy to Tony's family. We have many wonderful memories of Tony, Florence and the girls when they lived in Maine.

Tony was a dear man and a devoted Catholic. He will be missed by all.
