Barbara Smith Brown

Barbara Smith Brown, 80, beloved wife of the late Frankie Brown, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Born in Pickens, SC, she was the daughter of the late L.A. and Lucille Jennings Smith.

Born and raised in the South, Barbara was known for her warm and gentle demeanor, embodying the essence of a proper southern lady. Barbara had a wonderful sense of humor that often caught her family off guard. Her witty jokes and playful banter were a source of joy for all who knew her.

Barbara’s love for flowers led her to pursue a career as a florist, where she excelled in bringing beauty and joy to others through her floral arrangements.

Above all, Barbara loved her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always finding ways to make each family gathering special and memorable. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever be treasured by her family and friends.

She is survived by daughters, Deanna Christopher and Sharon David; grandchildren, Lee David, Heather Burton (Randy), Jeff Christoper (Caiti), Kevin Christopher; great-grandchildren, Elijah David (Hailee), Isaac David (Shayla), Joseph Burton, Jackson Christopher, Haylee David, Henry Christopher, Amelia Christopher; great-great grandchildren, Rebecca David, Asilee David, Magnolia David, and Nariah David; brothers, Phil Smith (Gail), and Lynn Allen (Sabrina) Smith.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery West .
