Beatrice Marcelle Moree Walker, 85, of Stanley, NC, died on Sunday, September 26, 2021.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dewitt and Ethel Nix Moree.

She was a homemaker but also worked in multiple sewing halls during her lifetime. She served as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed cooking, reading and crocheting.

Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Gail Edwards of Little River, SC and Tina Yvette Anderson (Louis) of Gray, TN; one son, Timothy Joe Walker (Kim) of Stanley, NC; brother, Samuel Moree; six grandchildren, Samuel Edwards, Leah Edwards, Miriam Penland (Kyle), Andrew Edwards, Megan Benfield (Steve), and Emily Walker; two great grandchildren, Yvette Penland and Brayden Benfield; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Winford Walker; son, David Walker; brothers, James Moree and Joe Moree; sister, Ruth Massingille; and son-in-law, Sam Edwards.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown, 639 N. Main Street, Greenville, SC. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Senior TLC at 1875 Remount Road, Gastonia, NC 28054, in Marcelle’s memory.
