Betty Louise Foster, 89, wife of the late Vealon Foster, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Luther Earl Garrett, Sr. and Ruth Davis Garrett.
Betty was a master seamstress and prolific quilter. She designed wedding gowns, prom dresses, anything imaginable. When it came to thread and cloth, she could make it. She had a strong work ethic and a passion for designing and making quality dresses. She was a woman of strong faith that loved her family, and was loved beyond compare by them. Betty will be deeply missed by her loved ones and all those she left her mark on.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Foster-Derrick (Bruce) and Susan Powell (Michael); her sons, Russell Foster (Katherine) and Randall Foster; grandchildren, Melanie, Nikki, Zachary, Jessica Jillian, Tristan, Abbigale, Jacob, Logan, Chase, Nina, and Liam; fourteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Brenda Williams (Buddy); and a brother, Carroll Garrett (Linda).
In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Davis (Hoyle); and brothers, Bobby Garrett (Edna) and Luther Earl Garrett, Jr. (Sue).
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest Chapel. Burial will be held in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
