Dear Cindy and family,
I am sorry we haven't been able to keep in touch, but your grandfather (Riggins) was my Mamma Estelle Simmons younger brother.  I am caregiver for my 97 yr. old mother, Cleon S
Sanders.  We last saw your mother and your Aunt Flossie when they came for visitation following my Aunt Julia's death.  I talked with your mother about remembering her being a majorette during her time at Parker High School.  I was also a majorette for years at Liberty High.  Since Mother has been homebound she did hear from your aunt and mother through cousin Avanelle Moore as long as she was able to talk on the phone.  Since your Aunt Flossie and Avanelle also passed away we did not know where your mother was.  We appreciate your mother and aunt coming to visitation when Aunt Julia died.  Mother and her youngest sister, Jean Burgess are the only remaining siblings.  Jean told me about seeing the obituary for your mother in the G. News.  I am sorry I didn't know it.  I just read the ones in the funeral homes in Pickens County online.  Jean doesn't drive much at all now.  She is 82 and her husband is 85.  She assumed that I knew or had read of your mother's passing.  Mother has some dementia, but she talks about the family and how good your grandparents were and how Mamma loved her brother Duffie.  I recall visiting at your parents' home when I was growing up.
You will be in our thoughts and prayers!!
Love in Christ,

Cindy and family, it is with saddest when I heard of Betty passing. I had many, many fun years knowing and being with Dean and Betty on many trips we took together and the time we spent our friends. She was a wonderful person and a joy to know. God Bless
