Betty Rochelle (Evans) Martinez, 84, beloved wife of 66 years to Daniel R. Martinez of Greenville, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late James “J.C” and Lura Allen Evans.

She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed working in her home raising her five children. Betty was a special “Nanny” who loved her grandchildren more than anything else.

Mrs. Martinez was a faithful member of Tremont Church of God for many years.

In addition to her husband, Daniel Martinez, Betty is survived by her four children, Sheree Heil, Tina (Scott) Thomas, Danny Dino (Sherry) Martinez, and Mark (Jennifer) Martinez; 13 grandchildren, a step-grandchild, 30 great-grandchildren, and a brother-in-law, Benny Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Martinez.

Public viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. Her funeral service will be Friday, September 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown with burial following in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
