Bill Collins, 75, devoted husband to the late Cheryl Collins, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021.
Born in Salsbury, NC, he was the son of the late Jennings and Helen Sherrill Collins.
He proudly served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and received many medals for his time in service.
Bill was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting deer, quail, and turkey. He was known to be quite the fisherman, too. He loved spending time with his family and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
His memory lives on with his two loving children, Sherry Ainslie of Simpsonville, SC, and Brian Collins and his wife, Charity, of Greenville, SC; and was the “Worlds Best Papa” to his five precious grandchildren, Abigail, Evan, Josiah, Nathan, and Samuel.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown followed by the funeral service at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
