I worked with Blake in 2021 and I’ll never forget the experience. Blake was strong willed, outspoken, and fought hard for his beliefs. My fondest memory of Blake was right before my wife and I had our daughter he called me up to share his wisdom on bringing home a new baby. This was when Henry was about 6 months old. Most of Blake’s advice was about taking care of mom- very pertinent indeed. Not a lot of people would take time out of their busy day like that. It was a really nice moment of connection.

I am Blake’s Aunt Nell. We always had Christmas at my house. One Christmas, Blake was just a little fellow, got a chain saw from Santa and brought it to our house. The next thing we knew he was trying to cut our tree down. His little butt was the only thing we could see from under the Christmas tree, he worked on getting that tree down all evening. Love and prayers to all that loved Blake.
Ty Mortensen left a message on August 26, 2023:
Blake was an incredible human being. Blake and I met in the early 2000's while he was an intern at GE and I was a quality engineer. The two of us were problem solving some coating defects on buckets, and the following Monday morning Blake arrived and clunked this 20lb-30lb fixture on my desk. I was in complete astonishment while Blake described this newly designed fixture to improve our process and prevent the defects. Over the weekend, he cut the steel and welded hinges to this "clamshell" coating fixture that acted like a pyramid. His design worked and we soon copied the design concept to other bucket types. Blake was an impressive engineer. He took great pride in his up bringing, his family, and Clemson...Carla should take pride in getting Blake hooked on Clemson football! Blake was a positive influence on us all. Blake will be missed dearly.

Blake helped guide me into the world of GE when I started nearly 5 years ago. He always took the time to answer my questions and gave me insights that I didn't even knew I needed. He consistently brought up his family in our conversations, and his love for Carla was obvious in the way that he spoke about her-- with kindness and admiration. My heart is broken for his family, and you all are in my thoughts and prayers. May the wonderful memories that you undoubtedly made comfort you at this tough time. -Madison Wilson

Carla & Henry, and the entire Fulton family, please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I met Blake little less than 3 years ago, yet I believe we became good friends. It was not difficult with someone, who talked to me from our first video call like we are friends already. I'll never forget the way he said: 'Hey buddy!' - with such a caring voice. Blake has been gifted and he was special on many different ways... the best to me is how he handled people around. Little Henry will experience this on a special way... no matter where he will go, dozens of families will always host him like their own child. Blake was a great man, we will miss him. God bless.

I am sorry for the loss Blake's loved ones must be feeling. I only recently met him and really only had a few interactions. He was a spark to our team. He brought fresh ideas and an abundance of enthusiasm. We shared a few personal stories about our trucks and our family. We found that we had some common values and interests. His kindness and love of family inspired me in the short time that I knew him. He was clearly a very special person. I hope all who knew him find comfort in this difficult time of fond memories of when he was with us.

May you find peace and solace in commemorating Blake's life and the legacy he leaves behind. With heartfelt condolences, Bernard Addai

Blake and I started at GE around the same time and often said we "grew up" together in the factory. When I moved to Engineering, he offered me all kinds of Blake's famous advice. :) Sometimes, he would call and say let me tell you the type of engineer you NEED to hire. I always listened and mostly he was right. We shared the love of Clemson which was discussed frequently... sometimes good.... sometimes not so good. He would always text when you guys went to Edisto a picture because we also shared the love of the laid back nature there. He was a brilliant person who will be missed by many. Carla & Henry- love you guys! I always felt a part of the family as often as he spoke of you. You two were his entire world. May you have some peace in the impact he made for the short time he was on this planet. Amanda Fowler

Ellen Meyer left a message on August 24, 2023:
I started working with Blake the day he returned from paternity leave. He was so proud and excited to show Henry off that he changed his teams background to Henry's picture so everyone got to see him, and the adorable picture stayed up for months. I soon realized that enthusiasm was Blake's approach to life. Even when he got back from backpacking Linville gorge in the rain, or was remembering hiking while Carla was pregnant and "breathing for two", the stories overflowed with his good humor and joy. At work, he was always quick to congratulate others, express gratitude, help think through problems and make room to vent frustrations when needed. He made the post-COVID office a much brighter place to be. Blake once gave me a unique answer to the question "How're you doing?". He replied "better than I deserve". The only other time I had heard that response was on Mt. Rainier's Wonderland trail. A solo hiker was coming towards us on one of the steepest sections of the trail, and just exuded happiness despite the stairmaster section he was climbing. Those memories have intertwined now, and I can easily see Blake so content and grateful with his life whether it's on a steep section of trail slogging bear meat uphill, juggling meetings and a sick baby, navigating the nuances of starting up a new team, and everything else life sent his way. My deepest sympathies to Carla, Henry and everyone who knew him. He will be missed.

To Blake's Family. My desk was near Blake's in the AMW Building at GE for a time. I saw Blake most every day. It is not exaggerating to say, Blake was one of the most positive people I have had the pleasure to meet. Others will agree. I never, never, never saw him without a smile on his face. He brought joy to my day when I saw him in the morning.

My deepest condolences to Carla, sweet Henry and Blake's entire family and many friends. Blake and I worked together for the past 10 years. He made me smarter and better every day. He had such a passion for doing what was right, supporting others and never was shy about rolling up his sleeves and doing the hard stuff. When Blake called, I answered...I knew he needed me and I knew I'd learn something and I'd hoped I could help him solve some of the toughest issues together. I knew we'd have fun, laugh and get things done. Every conversation started with "let me show you a picture of Henry". He will be missed tremendously but his energy, passion and dedication will live on through each of us. We are all better for having known him. Such a special guy. May God meet you all where you are and bring you peace during this incredibly sad time. God bless. Mary Julian

Carla, Henry, and the rest of Blake's family I give my sincerest condolences for your loss. I met Blake back in 2013 when I was still green behind the ears starting at GE. I have spent the better portion of my career working for or with him. He'd move to a new area and I wouldn't be too far behind. We connected easily both being from similar upbringings, from the Lowcountry, going to Clemson, and sharing similar interests. Here are just a few of the memories I think back on when I remember him. The first is when he decided to host 50 new hires for lunch at work. People from all over the country and some international. And just like any good Lowcountry boy, what did he choose for the menu....Lowcountry Boil! So here we are with (6) pots of Lowcountry Boil going for some who haven't even peeled a shrimp before! It was hilarious. We got it done though and had a great time doing it. Blake a was genuine southern man through and through. My fondest memory with Blake was last July when we hiked Mt. Sterling together along with Steve and Doc. I told him I had always wanted to go backpacking and he agreed to show me the ropes as long as I could keep up. He let me bum half of my equipment from him and Carla (thanks Carla!). We had a blast even though my wife, Brenna, was not enthused seeing photos from the top of the dilapidated fire tower. On this trip he opened up a completely new world to me of experiencing the outdoors for which I am forever grateful. I hope to carry on Blake's legacy by teaching my son the same love. Blake was a good man who loved his family and loved people. I am going to miss him.
