Bobbie Compton Cook, 85, of Greenville, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Arthur and Nannie Mae Jenkins.
Bobbie fought to stay here on earth, but the good Lord had other plans for her, she will be dearly missed, but we know she has no more suffering and is at peace. Bobbie was a loving and generous person. She loved her family, friends and church with all her heart.
Bobbie married her high school sweetheart, the late Carl M. Compton, Sr. They had only one child, Carl M. Compton, Jr. and wife, Dawn. She had one grandson, Carl Michael Compton, III and his wife, Lindsey and two great grandchildren, Zoe Compton and Cash Miles Compton, IV. Later in life she married the late Roy L. Cook and their life was spent loving the Lord and their church of many years, Living Sanctuary.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Pastor Duree Propes and his wife, Shirley, who walked with mother until she arrived at the heavenly gates. To all those who showed their support in her time of sickness and a special thank you to her life long friends, Denny Cartee and Elizabeth Head. A special blessing to her daughter-in-law, Dawn Compton, for taking such good care of mother in her time of need.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. A Inurnment will be held at Graceland Memorial Park East.
“Earth has no sorrow heaven can not cure.” We are not mad that the Lord called her home, we are just going to miss her.
