Bobby Lee Belt, 77, beloved husband of 35 years to Deborah Belt, of Easley, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, June 9, 2023.
Born in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of the late Emory and Cecil Cothran Belt.
Bobby proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany and Berlin. During his time in Berlin, he had the privilege of meeting President Kennedy, an encounter that left a lasting impression on him. Bobby also excelled as a member of the Rifle Team, showcasing his marksmanship skills.
Bobby had a passion for sports. He was an excellent athlete who enjoyed playing golf, basketball, softball, and bowling. Bobby’s competitive spirit and love for sports brought him joy and created lasting memories with friends and family.
In his professional life, Bobby was a tremendous businessman and made a name for himself as a commercial plumber. He was highly regarded in the community for his expertise and professionalism.
As a devout Christian, Bobby was a long-time member of Monaghan Baptist Church, where he found solace and strength in his faith. He actively supported missions around the world and selflessly volunteered his plumbing services on numerous mission trips.
Above all, Bobby was a dedicated husband and father, he poured his heart and soul into nurturing and providing for his family. His role as husband, father, and grandfather brought him immense joy.
Bobby Lee Belt’s passing leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he served. His legacy will continue to live on through each life he touched.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by sons, Kevin Belt, James Willard, Paul Willard, and Micah Wilson; daughters, Karen Rattray (Robert), Lexi Reyes (Jorge), and Ciera Fuller (Thomas); grandchildren, Brooke Rattray (Sullivan), Brandon Rattray (Marissa), Catherine Bicknel (Nick), Brad, Blake, and Nathan Belt; nine great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth “Libby” Lamb; brother, Carl Belt; and numerous loving family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Juanita Michelle Willard Wilson; and son, Robert Belt; two brothers; and two sisters.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery West .
