Bonnie Brewer Malone, 84, devoted wife of Robert Malone for 68 years; passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 after a short battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Brewer, James and Josie Brewer.
Bonnie attended Parker High School and Greenville Business College. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Herbert Riddle for more than 20 years. She was a Sunday School teacher in the children's department for many years and charter member of Bethel Baptist Church in Berea, SC. She enjoyed her Young at Heart meetings and teaching crafts to others. She was a faithful member of City View First Baptist Church and its Truett Fidelis Sunday School class.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved attending her children and grandchildren's events.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Betty (Bill) Moore; a brother-in-law, Carl Malone; three children, Susan (Joey) Batson, Robert Malone and Alison (Kevin) Youngblood; four grandchildren, Jamie (Marie) Hicks, Michael Batson, Will Youngblood and Ben Batson; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by siblings: Leonard (Grace) Brewer, Lucille Lagares, JD (Edith) Franks and Gilbert (Viola) Franks.
A public viewing will be held Wednesday, March 03, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at City View First Baptist Church with a graveside service following. Masks are required in all Thomas McAfee Funeral Home locations and attendees are strongly encouraged to follow CDC guidelines on social distancing.
