Bruno and Sue were our neighbors where we grew up in New Rochelle, NY. Young Stevie and I used to play in our backyards, and inevitably, I would end up in Bruno's house, forgetful of the time, way past dinner-call, with my own mom or dad coming along in a bit of a huff to say, "Where have you been?!?". While it was certainly my fault, Bruno would kindly take the hit, saying that he lost track of time as he was playing with us kids. I was a sad day when the DeStefani family moved to North Carolina, though Bruno and Sue and the crew always stayed in touch (with my mother Marie, especially), sharing kindness with each note and the occasional visit "back home". Bruno, you will be missed. Sending love and deepest condolences to the extended family.

I have very fond memories of Bruno and Sue from when I was growing up on Weyman Avenue in New Rochelle. They were our wonderful and kind neighbors. Much to my dismay, I didn't have a dog of my own and used to bug them to play with Duchess, their beautiful collie. I remember asking Bruno if I could take Duchess to a little dog show at our local Humane Society. Not only did he say yes, but he also took the time to bathe and brush Duchess right before the show so that she would look her very best. A "small" act of kindness...but one that I will always remember. May Bruno RIP.

May he rest in peace. I will always remember the laughter we all shared as children when your dad and the girls were all still with us. We DID have a great childhood at grandma and grandpa's, especially during the holidays when we were all together. He was so funny, quiet, but funny. LOL! Love and will miss you Uncle Bruno.
