Carolyn Joan Sams, 81, beloved wife of Steven Sams, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021.

Born in Indianapolis, IN, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Maudie Nester Mitchell.

Carolyn attended Brookwood Church and helped with the children’s Sunday School class. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, going to the beach, and volunteering at nursing homes where she would dress as a clown and bring smiles to everyone she met. She also loved music and dancing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, David McAtee, II and wife, Deann; daughter, Joan Kahoun and husband, Fred; grandson, Taylor McAtee; granddaughters, Marley Kahoun and Gina McAtee; and one sister, Linda Jarret. She predeceased by sisters Janice Blankenship, Wanda Mitchell, Pam Aders; three brothers, Bob Mitchell, Mike Mitchell, and Denny Mitchell.

A private service will be held at a later date.
