Carolyn Redding Johnson, 69, of Greenville and wife of James “Kenneth” Johnson, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Jessie and Kathleen Redding Bryant.
Carolyn was a faithful member of First Assembly of God. She loved her church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Carolyn never met a stranger and was the kind of woman that took care of everyone with her nurturing spirit. She loved her Lord and enjoyed reading her Bible.
In addition to her loving husband of 51 years she is survived by her children, Richie Johnson (Angie) and Angie Baker (David); three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ramey (Matthew), Kyle Johnson (Hope), Kerri Hammonds (Collin); four great-grandchildren, Kolton, Kohen, Keegan and Sutton; brothers, Jessie Bryant Jr. (Janet), Edward Bryant and Larry Bryant; and numerous nieces and a nephew.
Carolyn was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Redding.
A visitation will be held on Monday,September 13, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 12:00 o’clock noon in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery West .
