Charles Wendell Green, 82, of Greenville, beloved husband of Jane Oglesby Green, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022.
Born in Lavonia, GA, he was the son of the late Hoyt and Bonnie Floyd Green.
Wendell was a member of Welcome Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In the 1970’s, he was the electrical instructor at Donaldson Vocational Center and later the owner of Dimension Electric and a partner at Crowe Electrical. Wendell was an avid Clemson football and Atlanta Braves fan; he enjoyed cheering on his teams. In his spare time, he loved to fish and go hunting. He was a man of strong work ethic, family values and faith. Wendell loved his Lord, his church and his family. His legacy and memory will carry on by all that knew and loved him.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughters, Luanne Greenburg (Joe), Suzi Estes, and Wendy Schulz (Mark); step daughter, Laura Clark; eight grandchildren, Nicki Beattie (Charles), Madison Owens (Anthony), Casey Avant (Brandon), Josh Schulz, Zach Schulz, Kaiti Thomas, Dean Waldrop, and Hunter Oglesby; eleven great-grandchildren, Brianna, Savannah, Marissa, and Allison Beattie, and Aislyn, Alexus, Ayden, and Ace Owens, Dylan Avant, and Asher and Lucas Thomas; brothers, Bobby Joe “BJ” Green, Lamar Green and Dan Green (Anne); and sister, Tracy Rainey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Pat Green; and step son, Matthew Oglesby.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Welcome Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
