Cora Cox Rafferty

Mrs. Cora Cox Rafferty, 89, formerly of 211 Carolina Avenue, died Wednesday May 05, 2004 at Lexington Medical Center Extended Care. Born in Simpsonville, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Florence Brown Cox and wife of the late John Rafferty. Mrs. Rafferty was a homemaker. She was a member of Eastlan Baptist Church where she was former president of the Rebekah Sunday School Class since 1964. She was former member of the adult choir ?Silvertones?, Tripple L Club, W.M.S. and prayer group of the church, and was also active in all phases of church life. Surviving are a daughter, Slaine Hayes of W. Columbia, SC; two sons, Sean P. Rafferty of Greenville, Russell P. Rafferty of Kansas; a sister, Mae C. Prohazka of Simsbury Conn.; a brother, James W. Cox of Clinton, SC; three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be Friday, May 07, 2004, from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May, 08, 2004, at 2:00 PM at Eastlan Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes.
