Danny Ray Camp, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 75 in his residence in Greenville, SC, on January 9, 2022.
Danny was born in Dublin, GA, to the late Ray Hurman Camp and Eloise Stinson Camp.
Danny obtained a BA of Business from the University of Georgia and retired from a successful long-term career in textile management. He was a very accomplished Private Pilot who loved to fly, an avid fan of Georgia Bulldogs Football, and a lover of music and history. He enjoyed water skiing, golfing, attending and watching the Masters, running, and exercising. He enjoyed using his chain saw and splitting wood for the fireplace. Danny enjoyed grilling and good food. Danny was a lover of life and savored every moment; he taught his family how to live a lot of life. He was a loving, caring, wise, and amazing Daddy, Granddaddy, Great Granddaddy, and Uncle. He was a faithful, loving, and loyal friend. He was loved by all. Above all, Danny was a believer in his Lord Jesus Christ and is now in His eternal loving presence.
Danny is survived by his wife, Pamela Leousis; two children from his first marriage (Mary Faye Camp): Danny Ray Camp, Jr. (Dawn) of Bostic, NC and Anna Faye Camp O’Dell (Greg) of Easley, SC; one child from his second marriage (Susan Diane Camp): Robert E. Standard (Randall) of LaGrange, GA; and two children from his third marriage (Pamela Leousis): Nathaniel Clark Bozeman (Bethany) of St. Petersburg, FL; and Aaron Kyle Bozeman (Katrina) of Highlands, NC; nine grandchildren, Katie Wood, Danny Ray “Trey” Camp, Austin Ray Camp, Aaron Christian Bozeman, Gabriel Camp O’Dell, Sarah Hailey Bozeman, Savannah Rain Bozeman, Marina Elizabeth Bozeman, and Piper Jane Bozeman. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and he loved them all dearly. Danny loved his family and friends very deeply.
A Celebration of Danny’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Cane Creek Baptist Church, 151 Cane Creek Mountain Road, Union Mills, NC 28018. His son, Danny, Jr., Pastor of Cane Creek Baptist, will be officiating. Family and friends are welcomed and encouraged to celebrate Danny’s life on this occasion. All are invited to join the family for food and fellowship in the Family Life Center following the service.
