Someone once said "A sorrow shared is a sorrow halved." Having recently lost my own husband, I share your deep sorrow in David's passing. May you be strengthened in the assurance that the separation is only temporary. Because He lives, you and I can face tomorrow. No "Goodbye," but "See you later."

Words are so inadequate when our journey takes these turns. I pray you will experience the "peace that surpasses all understanding" as we are promised by our Father. He is faithful and knows just how to fill those empty spaces in our hearts when we cry out to Him. I love you and I'm just down the road if you ever need some company ❤️
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

There are so many people along this pathway called life, and in this journey to Heaven, that make such impact on us. Among those is not only my church member, but my friend David. I came to know David in 1984, arriving to the Woodside COG as an intern. Later, as youth pastor, he would become a great leader (many stories someday to share). He was a giant to me in the faith, a true leader, and a friend. He will be greatly missed by Kim and me. Just one more reason to want to go to Heaven! See you soon brother!

Rev. Court Heath, III left a message on April 11, 2023:
I admit to crying and being deeply saddened by Brother Swafford’s promotion to Heaven. My reasons are selfish in the sense I will TRULY miss him. He told me once that he needed to tell me something “just for me”. When he did, I knew he had an “imparted” wisdom from the Lord from living a life of obedience. As I knew him better, it became blatantly obvious he was one of God’s “chosen”. I am so very thankful for my time spent with him.

Jimmy, Lindsey, and I are so sorry for the loss of David. We have such fond memories of him, especially on the softball field. Lindsey loved having him as a coach, and Jimmy enjoyed assisting him in coaching for several years. He was certainly a man of God, and left a wonderful legacy. He will be missed.
