David William Wayner, 89, of Greenville, devoted husband of the late Eloise Newton Wayner, went to be with his Lord and savior on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

Born in Yale, VA, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Vejnar.

David was a Christian man. He loved to build, fish, ride horses, and take his family to horse shows. While attending Bob Jones University, David met the love of his life, Eloise. The couple had their first date at the skating rink, fell in love, married, and started their family.

His memory will live on in the heart of his daughter, Christy Wayner; son-in-law, Rudy Walsh; and four adoring grandchildren, Matthew David Walsh and his wife Shawna, Christy Walsh, Kathryn Walsh, and Aaron Walsh.

In addition to his parents and loving wife of over 60 years, David was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Lindy Wayner Walsh; and eight siblings.

A service to celebrate David’s life will be held on Saturday October 16, 2021 starting at 1:00 p.m. in the home of Mark and Meredith Vejnar officiated by the Rev. Dr. Pamela Cole.

David was a faithful member of The Gideons International for 54 years. For more most of that time he was a member of the local Greenville South Camp. The Gideon and Auxiliary members of the Greenville South Camp wish to offer condolences to David's family in their time of loss.

We are so sorry to hear about David. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. We still live in the house David built 27 years ago! He was such a wonderful Christian man! I know you will miss him!
