Debra Hixson Turner, 66, of Greenville, died on June 19, 2021.

Born in Chattanooga, TN to the late Roger and Rhonda Hixson, she is survived by her sister, Deirdre Hixson; niece, Rowan Brown; nephew, Roger Brown; and beloved dog, Lily Rose.

Debra was a Special Education teacher in the Greenville School District for 30 years. She taught at Greer Middle School, Travelers Rest High School and Spring Brook PRTF. Debra was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Debra, you will be missed terribly, but it gives us great comfort to know that you are safe, whole, well and enjoying the joys of new life in the Resurrection.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation to follow.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of your dear sister and aunt. I had the opportunity to work with Debra for two years as her aide at TR and was so taken with seeing her kindness toward her students. She was a wonderful teacher and I learned much from her about caring that I apply today with my own scholars.

I will really miss Debra as a next door neighbor. We always had conversation in the driveway when she was coming in from school or leaving. She would always ask my male opinion on certain things even though we weren't but one year age different. May she RIP.

Through an acquaintance 16 years ago I Started working for you, taking care of your yard, it was always a pleasure talking with you and playing with Lily. I will really miss you, you are a good friend. God bless you Debra
