Diane L. Fecio, 63, wife of Robert J. Fecio, passed away August 23, 2022. After a yearlong battle with cancer, she went to be with her Lord in Heaven

Born in Kannapolis, NC, she was the daughter of the late Bennie and Katherine Rogers Lefler.

Diane was a graduate of Converse College and worked as an accountant with Bon Secours St. Francis Health System. For more than 30 years, she had the privilege of meeting and working with wonderful colleagues and friends. Diane adored her home life, her dogs, and spending time by the pool. She also loved to read and garden for pleasure. Diane enjoyed traveling with friends and family and spending time at the beach condo with them. The Christmas holiday season was her favorite time of year where she loved to try new recipes, entertain, and give gifts. As a member of Brookwood Church, Diane enjoyed working in the Special Friends Ministry. In her later days, she volunteered at the St. Francis Cancer Center to serve others battling the disease. Diane was a testament of a strong Christian, wife, and mother.

In addition to her husband of 39 years, left to cherish Diane’s memory are her two daughters, Jamie Fecio and Carly Fecio, and one sister, Tamara Lambert, and many close friends.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast.

Rob, I'm so sorry for you loss. I remember meeting her and thinking what a life loving happy lady she was. As I was watching the Tribute Video, I not only noticed her beautiful smile, but she was surrounded by the things she loved: family and friends, travel and water. I saw lots of water in the pictures as if she was drawn to tropical climate. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughters for comfort and peace in the days ahead.

I am so sorry for your loss. I only knew Diane through volunteering at the Cancer Center but I do know she was a kind and caring woman. Willing to help others even when she was going through difficult times herself. She was beautiful inside and out. I am fortunate to have known her.

Diane and I began our 25+ year friendship as women of faith. We soon became coworkers, mothers, and the best of friends. We enjoyed discussing lessons from our Bibles to support and strengthen our walk with Jesus. We loved and raised our children together and we spent many hours deliberating over our guidance and decisions as mothers in the hopes that our children knew how much we loved them. Diane was my rock and ally during the hard times and my entertaining and playful friend as the years went by. She gave so much of herself and I will forever feel blessed that I got to call her my friend. I will love and cherish her memory the rest of my life. Diane, I know you are a beautiful angel looking down on your family and friends. I am better for the time I spent with you.
