Donna and Steve were my nextdoor neighbors my whole life while growing up on Beaver Trail. She was the best example of loving your neighbors, because she sure did love me. She always made me feel like family. I’ll never forget her beautiful delicious Christmas cookies she would bake and deliver every year to our doorstep. I can taste them even now when I think about it. Donna offered me small jobs around their property to help me make some spending money when I first started driving, always wanted to see my Halloween costumes and be the first to give me candy each year. She even let us wash our dogs at their house because their outside spigot had hot water (we always had outside dogs haha). I will always remember and speak highly of the sweet, caring and selfless friend I had in my childhood neighbors Donna and Steve. Every small act can make a world of difference, and Donna taught that to me.

My family is praying for you all in the days and months to follow. I didn't know her very well but she did briefly discuss being prior military with me. Grateful for her service and for having the opportunity to meet another female veteran at the church!
