Dorothy (Dot) Lillian Mockrish, 95, of Greenville, SC and previously of Mechanicville, NY, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 in the comforting presence of her daughters. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Edward J. Mockrish.
Born in Saratoga Springs, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Louise DeCarlo. During her work career, Dot served as an Administrative Assistant for General Electric Company, Mechanicville, NY; Shenendehowa Central School District, Clifton Park, NY; and Bigelow-Sanford, Inc./Pillowtex Corporation, Greenville, SC.
Dot loved her family, her Catholic faith, and being of service to Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Survivors include: two daughters, Mary McCutcheon (James) of Simpsonville and Suzanne Davenport of Greenville; a sister, Shirley J. Guido of Mechanicville, NY; a niece, Judith Falk; a nephew, Joseph Guido; a brother-in-law, Robert M. Mockrish (Marian) of Melville, NY; and nephews Robert, Christopher, and Theodore Mockrish.
She is also survived by six grandchildren: Tyler Holseberg (Henry) of Simpsonville; Brin Davenport of Summerville; Callan Hazelbaker (Nelson) of Summerville; Adam McCutcheon (Morgan) of Florence; Colby Davenport of Greenville; Alex McCutcheon of Columbia; and five great-grandchildren: Billy, Wyatt, Zoey, Olivia, and Evie.
A Visitation will take place on Thursday October 21, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Taylors, SC with the funeral Mass celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY, on a date to be announced. Local arrangements by the Devito-Salvadore Funeral Home, Mechanicville, NY.
