Dorothy Mae Dixie Ballew, 89, wife of the late Paul Ballew, died Sunday, July 18, 2021.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Dudley and Elizabeth Dixie.

Dorothy was a charter member of Laurel Baptist Church where she taught children’s Sunday School for over 40 years.

She is survived by her children, Jean Rochester, Ray Ballew (Ann), Brenda Ballew and Gerald Ballew; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Dixie and James Dixie; and sisters, Frances Standly, Ruth Broadus, and Julion Dixie.

A graveside service will be held on Monday July 26, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. in Graceland East Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Traditions Health and Hospice Care, 1700 John B. White Sr Blvd, Spartanburg, SC 29301. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Traditions Hospice for their care and compassion of Dorothy during this time.
