Dorothy Redding Hughes, 66, of Liberty, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Estelle Moore Redding.
Dorothy was a member of Brandon Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was a collector of angels and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Walter Shead (Ouida), John Wayne Shead (Paula) and Tonya Nickols (Michael); nine grandchildren, Allen Brehm (Luci), Ryan Nickols, Michael Shead, Jessica Nickols, Victoria Shead, Matthew Suttles (Amber), Chloe Shead, Meagan Gary and Mason Gary; a great grandchild, Taylor Suttles; sister, Kathy Stansell (Joey); dear friend Kathy Porter; and her fur babies “Bella” and “Precious.”
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charlie Hughes in 2018; and sisters, Stella Russell, Barbara Smith and Linda Vanhorn.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 05, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
