My husband and I had many lunches with Chuck and Dee. The time was filled with many laughs as Chuck was a delightful story teller..... usually laughing as much as the audience. Chuck personality was always postive and filled with best wishes for Edd and me. Two super nice men left their friends and family with much love. Edd passed away Dec. 1st....the two had talked often with encouragement for each other. My love to Dee and family. and thankful for the memories...

I loved my Uncle Charlie. Every time I saw him he would give me a big hug and genuinely ask how I was doing. Because of his influence I chose to go to college at Furman and stayed in SC for 20 years. He had a sweet, gentle spirit and the best laugh in the world. He was a prince of a fellow. My love to Kay, Chris, Aunt Dee and the rest of the family.

Dan and I were so sorry to hear of Chuck’s death. Our sympathy goes to Dee and the rest of the family. We were privileged to enjoy his company at First Baptist, Tryon. We were in the church choir together. Chuck had a fine bass voice, but, best of all, was his wit and the joy he added to our group. He was a cut up. At church socials he always made a bee line for Alice’s coconut cake. It’s like none other, and she’d make it especially for Chuck. We hated to see him leave us for his return to Greenville. We’ll always remember him and the beautiful Dee with love.
