Kathy A Barney left a message on July 22, 2021:
Dr. Varn was my dentist for 30 years. He was my dad's dentist as well as my sister's. My dad, Allen F. Barney (deceased), started right along with the beginning of Dr. Varn's practice in 1964. Lot of history there. Thank you Dr. Varn for your wry sense of humor and your dedication to helping people smile!

Captain Gene Morin left a message on June 26, 2021:
I thought of Herb today as I passed the WWII museum at downtown GSP and our mutual attendance at Legionnaire's meeting over a year ago. He was always a welcome visitor as he collected money for the down and out each year. Rest in peace at the big reservation in the sky, fellow Eagle.
Dr and Mrs Willis (Bill) A. King, Jr left a message on June 26, 2021:
My condolences to Mattie and family. I remember well the kindness of Herb at the start of my practice.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Fletcher Mann left a message on June 26, 2021:
Dear Mattie and family, I’ve known Herb for my full 40 years in Pleasantburg Rotary, where he served faithfully for 57 years of perfect attendance at our weekly meetings and other social events. That in itself is a pretty good accomplishment, but his involvement went far beyond attendance. He was actively involved in all our service outings, community projects, and programs. He was always of good humor and a pleasure to know. He will be missed. God’s peace be with him and you. Fletcher

Herb and Mattie became friends while I served as pastor for the Fair Play Presbyterian Church. His love and faithfulness for our Lord, Jesus Christ was first and foremost in Herb’s life. It was truly a blessing to share many happy times with Herb and Mattie, at church and at their lake house on Lake Hartwell. We extend our love and condolences to Mattie and their family.
