Martha Mann left a message on September 20, 2021:
I am going to miss his smile, and love for life! Papa was a tenacious man, that had the will to live like no other I've known. Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior, and he worked in his church every Sunday. Papa and Granny were married nearly 63 years, and loved each other unconditionally! He taught my children trades that will carry them throughout their lives. Mostly his morals and ethics, that will be legendary for generations to come. When I count my blessings, I count Papa Mann many times. May you rest easy, and be in total peace. May you rest high on the mountain and protect us from afar. We will miss you forever, but so thankful you were in our life, and my children called you " their Papa!"

Bro. Gene will truly be missed. He served as a Deacon, Usher, and Sound Room Technician for many years. He and Sister Judy have been friends of ours since they came to Harmony Independent Baptist Church approximately 26 years ago. God has given us good times and His Mercy has always been with us through the hard times. Forever in our memories Pastor and Mrs. Edith Shipman.
