Ernest Guy Dyer, 94, of Greenville, husband of Pauline Dyer, died Monday, May 3, 2021.

Born in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late Lester Dyer and Lila Anderson.

He was a member of Laurens Road Methodist Church.

Mr. Dyer proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Pauline; his son, David Dyer and his wife, Christy Dyer; and his brother, Leroy Dyer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Dyer.

A service will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown at 12:00 p.m. Masks are required in all Thomas McAfee Funeral Home locations and attendees are strongly encouraged to follow CDC guidelines on social distancing. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park.

Since Ernest was an avid history buff, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Upcountry History Museum, 540 Buncombe St., Greenville, SC 29601.
