Evelyn Towe Center

Evelyn Towe Center, 88, devoted wife of the late Hardy Center Jr., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 26, 2021.

Born in Walhalla, SC, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Myrtle Rochester Towe.

Evelyn was formally a member of Mauldin Wesleyan Church and Perry Road Wesleyan Church. She proudly served in the US Air Force. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Evelyn was always one to volunteer at the voting polls, schools, and church. Known to most as the best pie maker around. She fought a good fight.

Her legacy will continue on in her three beautiful daughters, Vickie Bagwell and husband, Jimmy of Townville, Terri King and husband, Tony of Simpsonville, and Tracy Foss and husband, Bryan of Easley; five precious grandchildren, Kelley, Josh, Tyler, Tiffany, and Jordan; one darling great-grandchild, Savannah; and sister-in-law, Ruth Jones.

In addition to her parents and loving husband of 43 years, Evelyn was preceded in death by her two brothers, Harold and Gene Towe.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral homes, Downtown followed by a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
