Fornie Moore Huffman, Jr., 85, of 10 Glenmore Drive, husband of Ruth Gaynell Young Huffman, died Friday, May 13, 2011 at his residence. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Fornie Huffman, Sr. and Sudie Allen Huffman. Mr. Huffman was retired from Roadway Express and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a member of San Souci Baptist Church and was an avid golfer. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Rebecca Phillips of Greenville; three sons, Rick Huffman and wife, Vickie, of Pickens, Doug Huffman and wife, Pam, of Greenville and Mark Huffman of Greenville; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brad Huffman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes.

We were thankful to have Mr. Huffman as a customer in our restaurant. It was a pleasure to serve him. We always enjoyed talking to him and discussing Furman athletics with him. Sympathies from everyone at Chick-fil-A at Cherrydale.
