Fred Hamilton, 91, died July 3, 2004 at his home. Born in Greenville, Mr. Hamilton was retired from the State Health Department. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Hamilton was the son of the late Elzie and Nettie Hamilton and is survived by his wife, Helen Brady Hamilton of the home, one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Terry Hollifield of Rock Hill, SC; six grandchildren, Brian Hollifield, Weylin Brown, Amy and Rob Wright, Amanda Hollifield, and Emily Hollifield. He is predeceased by a brother, James Monroe Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartanburg Blvd., Suite 101, Spartanburg, SC 29301, or Travelers Rest United Methodist Church, 19 S. Main St., Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
