Garvin Moore, 77, loving husband of Alma Sargent Moore, died on November 23, 2022.
In addition to his wife, Garvin is survived by two daughters, Leah Holliday and Cyndi Duncan Lewis (Don); sons, Jeff Moore (Hope), and Larry Duncan. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and sister, Patsy Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Jessie King Moore, along with his brother, Wallace Moore.
Garvin was born on October 13, 1945, in Liberty, South Carolina. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, and then worked in the construction industry for many years. In 1982, Garvin married the love of his life, Alma. He was an active member of Riverview Baptist Church.
Garvin was a devoted husband, father, “Papa”, brother, son, and friend. He loved being with his family, and was known for his unending generosity, his impeccable work ethic, and the love of a good joke. His love for his family and friends, rooted in his strong hope and faith in Jesus Christ, will be his legacy.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Riverview Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m., and burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery West.
