Gary Alan Jacques, 64, beloved husband of Pat Jacques of Anderson, passed away at home Friday, August 19, 2022.
Born in Melrose Park, IL, he was the son of the late Harold and Shirley Watters Jacques.
Gary’s family moved to the Upstate during his elementary years. He was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School and proud to be a graduate from Clemson University, Class of 1982. He was a proud member of IPTAY, and lived for football season.
He loved his time at Tiger Stadium sporting his orange and cheering on his Tigers. Gary enjoyed the lake life, fishing, swimming, and especially spending time with his family and friends on sunset cruises on his pontoon boat.
Gary’s family was everything to him and he was blessed with three special women in his life: his bride and best friend, Pat, and his two cherished daughters, “Princess” and “Favorite”. He was an exemplary husband and father who always put his needs second.
Gary and Pat have owned Elite Petroleum Systems in Taylors since 1999. In the 23 years, Gary considered his employees and clients as family.
In addition to his wife Pat, he leaves daughters and sons-in-law, Kari and T.C. Hutcherson of Florence, SC, and Lindsay and Jon Kemp of Easley, SC; a sister, Christy and her husband Dee Bragg of Waterloo, SC; a brother, Bob and and his wife Tami Jacques of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Grayson, Emma, Skyler, and Lilly; and several loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bobby Watts.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 26, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
Family and friends who are unable to attend the service can view the Live Stream by clicking on the “Watch Livestream” button located on the main obituary page.
The family would like to thank Fresenius Dialysis and Interim Home Healthcare for their loving care.
