Gary Ryland Duncan, 75, husband of Martha Duncan, died Sunday, April 17, 2022.

Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Jack and Helen Carter Duncan.

Gary was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church. He was a 1964 graduate of Parker High School and a 1974 graduate of University of South Carolina. Gary proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army as a member of the Combat Infantry where he was awarded the Bronze Star for his valor. He retired from Greenville Builder’s Supply in Mauldin and was an avid golfer and a lover of all kinds of sports however, his main interest was always his family.

In addition to his beloved wife of 51 years, he is survived by daughter China A. Duncan; son Tyler G. Duncan and his wife Christy; brother Jack Richard Duncan; sister Jerry Duncan Floyd; granddaughter Kamryn Burnett; a beloved niece and nephews.

The Graveside Service will be held Friday April 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Graceland Cemetery West.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Monaghan Baptist Church, 1500 W. Parker Rd., Greenville, SC 29617.

Gary and I grew up together in Dunean. We attended Dunean Elementary and Parker High together. We especially enjoyed playing sports as young Dynamos under the tutelage of Dunean's Coach Ward Williams, reading comic books and having fountain cherry cokes at the Dunean Drug Store and many other good times. It was a wonderful childhood friendship. I have not seen Gary in many years and I am sorry he has passed away. May God be with the family as you mourn his passing
