Gary Wayne Holder, 64, beloved husband of 44 years to Sonja Holder, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

Born in Pickens, SC, he was the son of the late L.C. and Ruth Hendricks Holder.

Gary was a lifelong member of Parisview Baptist Church where he enjoyed sharing the love of Christ with others through fellowship. Owner of Gary Holder Collision in Flat Rock, NC, he worked in the auto collision field for over 44 years. He enjoyed spending time and making memories with his family and friends on Carnival cruises, trips to Disney and made many special memories at their mountain house in Tennessee. His love for traveling was sparked by his time as a NASCAR pit crew member for Jason Keller. Gary deeply loved his family, especially his grandbabies. The whole family would gather every Sunday for dinner where he watched all of his grandchildren play together and make sweet memories. The love he had and showed for his family and friends was enormous and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his loving wife, Sonja, he is survived by daughters, Jessica (Travis) Rosselli, and Ashley (Nick) Porter; son, Cliff (Danielle) Holder; eight grandbabies; brother, Larry Kenneth Holder; and sister, Pat Moody.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Joni Lee Holder.

The memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with the visitation immediately following until 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parisview Baptist Church, 100 Bud St., Greenville, SC 29617.

I had the pleasure of working for Gary for several years. He taught me so much that I still use to this day. Not only collision repair but life lessons as well. He was somewhat of a father figure at a time it was needed. I didn't know it at the time but he was an amazing Christian influence. Rest in peace 'Boss' and may God bless the family.

I was so sorry to hear about Gary's death. I worked with him off and on for many years from CSC, as well as taking personal repairs to the shop. He was such a good guy, always with a smile and I know he will be greatly missed. Prayers to all his family!
