George and I first met when we were at Carolina in the 60"s. We roomed together on campus and off. There was always something going on with George - he lit up every room he entered. He was devoted to his family, and he was a loyal friend throughout the decades. We will be grateful to have known him. My sincere condolences.

George was a great friend for over 50 years. We spoke often and most recently a few weeks ago. He was very proud of his family. I will miss him and his humor in the midst of uncertainty. R.I.P Georgie from the hill.

Many good memories! From George telling stories we weren’t sure were 100% true, to seeing him almost every time I went to Publix. He was a wonderful man who will be missed by many. Prayers and strength for the family through this heartbreaking time.
