Gerald Conrad Melton, 85, husband of Mary Gilliland Melton, died on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

Born in Hazard, KY, he was a son of the late Ora and Effie Wooten Melton.

Gerald retired from Kemet Corporation and was a Mason as well as a 32nd Degree Shriner.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Dan Melton and wife, Debi, Kenneth Gilliland and wife, Melody, and W.C. Gilliland and wife, Allyson; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Mahan and Carolyn Begley; and one brother, Damon Melton.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Clayton Melton.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 12 noon until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by the memorial service at 1:30 in the Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605.
