Harold Eugene Fulghum, 63, of Greenville, husband of Cathy Moore Fulghum, died Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Billy and Rachel Duncan Fulghum.
Harold was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
Harold was thankful for Dr. Harold Sightler and the Tabernacle Baptist Church for taking two baby boys in the summer of 1962 and opening the children’s home. He was thankful for the love and care he received there.
Harold loved and adored his wife of 42 years. He was her best friend, confidant, biggest supporter, and prankster.
He loved his three boys with all of his heart. A great example of what a husband and father should be. A jack of all trades and the master of none, but he instilled in them that’s how you learn. He was always there for them day or night, to listen, help or give advice.
Harold’s granddaughters were the ones that absolutely stole his heart. He enjoyed having them over to stay the night or just a quick visit. He looked forward to his trips with his girls whether it be the mountains, Dollywood, Charleston, Beach, or just to play putt putt.
He was always just a phone call away for the rest of the family whenever they needed him. He was the person everyone wanted by their side. He loved without judgment and offered advice and criticism if he thought you needed to hear it. He enjoyed camping, riding the pontoon, grilling out, and fishing, (for which he had no patience). If the family asked him to do something, his answer was “I’ll have to ask mama”.
Harold always looked forward to going out to eat with friends and family. He was absolutely one of a kind, with a heart of gold. A very special man that will be greatly missed.
Most of all he loved the Lord and was ready to see his savior face to face.
In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by children, Joshua Fulghum (Tanda), J.J. Fulghum, James Fulghum (Alicia); granddaughters, Emily, Ella, and Ava Fulghum; brother, Ronnie Barbrey (Tammy) of Knoxville; angel-mom, Sandy Mills .
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Case; and angel-dad, Jim Mills.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church, 3315 Anderson Rd. Greenville, SC 29611 or Tabernacle Children’s Home, www.tabernaclechildrenshome.org
