Harriett and I grew up together in Springfield. She was a beautiful, delightful and thoughtful young woman who brought joy to all who knew her. I particularly remember a performance she gave at a musical program at Springfield High School where she performed a song dressed as a "flapper". Not only was she a beautiful "flapper," she was quite a good performer. We both settled in Greenville and when I had the occasion of seeing her, it was a delight. She will be missed. Here I am nearly 60 years old and all the memories of being a little girl come flooding back. I will forever remember the slumber parties with my Aunt Harriett at grandmamas and granddaddy's. Laying in bed with her between me and my sister Pam, telling us made up fairytales where Pam and and I were the prettiest Princesses in all the land. I love you Aunt Harriett and will carry all the sweet memories with me, till we meet again. ???
