Hazel Rigdon Turner, 86, beloved wife of the late Charles Turner, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Rigdon, Sr. and Mary Dendy Rigdon.
Mrs. Turner was very proud of her PHD as she was a 1954 graduate of Parker High School. She was a Charter member of Unity Baptist Church. Hazel loved being a homemaker; she loved to sew and make things for her family, including her daughter’s wedding gowns. She greatly loved her family and extended family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by daughters, Karla Turner Bridges and Kimberly Neely; granddaughter, Mary Neely Leeson (Captain Reid); and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brother, James H. Rigdon, Jr.; sister, Frances Rigdon Cody; and son-in-law, Frank Bridges.
The graveside service will be held Monday, May 16, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to recognize Open Arms Hospice, especially Alana Valentine, Angie Johnson, and Amber Burdette, and private nurse, Nancy Bennefield, for their special care for Hazel during the last stages of her life.
