Helen McKinney

Helen Bagwell McKinney, 89, widow of Ira Lee McKinney, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022.

Born in Greenville,SC, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Alethia Dill Bagwell.

Mrs. McKinney spent several years of her career serving as a nurse in Roanoke, VA. After moving back to South Carolina, she served as the Greenville County Election Coordinator for 23 years before retiring in 1996.

Helen was an active member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church. She served the church in many ways including serving as the Church Trustee, Historian, and Sunday School Secretary.

She is survived by son Rick McKinney (Annie); sister Ann Pace; grandson Randy McKinney (Crystal); great-grand sons Hayden McKinney and Jordan Roberts; and sister-in-law Rita R. Bagwell.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Otis Bagwell and J. Morris Bagwell; and sister-in-law Betty Bagwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Creek Baptist Church Senior Adult Fund.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday April 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Rocky Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service in Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends following the committal service.
