Huda Askar 1937 ~ 2020: Huda Najeeb Adbulnoor, age 83, went to heaven peacefully on October 15, 2020 in Greenville South Carolina, USA. She was born February 6, 1937, in Mosul, Iraq to the late Najeeb and Salma Abdulnoor. She was married to, Yousif Yaqoob Askar, on September 27, 1953, who preceded her death by exactly 8 months on February 15, 2020.
Huda loved to love people. People remember her for her smile and jokes. She was well known with how her house was always clean and neat. She loved cooking, her home festivities were always fun. She made the best Iraqi Maslawi food like (Kibbi, Dolma, Orooq).
She used to say “how she loved her grandchildren more than her own children, and how when her grandchildren come to visit or seeing her is like heaven to her”.
Huda was a mother to all, she raised her own children, her in-laws, and her grandchildren, every one called her "Mama Huda”, because she was just how mother's should be, full of love.
She taught everyone a big life lesson, treat people with kindness and sweetness, it's the solution to every problem. She was always kind and humble.
Huda came to the United States on December 2008, with her family and resided in Greenville, South Carolina. Huda was a faithful communicant of Saint Rafka Maronite Catholic Church of Greer.
She is survived by her two sons, Ramiz Askar and his wife, Ikram Salem Kaseer and Dr. Luay Askar and his wife, Salwa Yousif Al-kass, and her daughter, Ghada Askar; four grandsons, Yousif, Fawaz, Reema, and Ramy; and a great grandson, Taim; a brother, Saib Abdulnoor; four sisters, Najla, Afaf, Jannan, and Manal Abdulnoor.
In addition to her loving husband, and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fathallah Abdulnoor.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Saint Rafka Maronite Catholic Church. Burial will be held in Graceland East Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Rafka Maronite Catholic Church, 1215 SC-14, Greer, SC, 29650.
We ask God to have mercy on her and the patience of all the family on her and the patience of all the family on her separation and to accommodate her in her specious heaven, pray for her. Amen
