Jack Dewane Tucker III, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 10, 2008. He was the son of Jack Dewane Tucker, Jr. and Rhonda Jones Tucker. Jack graduated from Berea High School in 1993 and went twelve years without missing a single day. He also played football for Berea High School. Jack was a graduate of Gardner Webb University where he was an athletic trainer. He was a member of San Souci Baptist Church where he attended church camp from 3rd grade and after high school became a camp counselor. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Jamie Rickard Tucker, of the home; daughter, Valarie Rickard, of the home; father-in-law, Alan Rickard; mother-in-law, Kay Vick; maternal grandmother, Lyda Belle Jones; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He loved his family and friends more than life itself. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Jack Tucker, Sr. and Mary; maternal grandfather, Freeman Jones; stepfather-in-law, Randall Vick; and cousin, Nicholas Burgess. The funeral service will be Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 3:00 pm at San Souci Baptist Church with visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Grand View Memorial Gardens in Travelers Rest. Memorials may be made to the Valarie Rickard Educational Fund, c/o GHS Credit Union, 211 Patewood Drive, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at their respective homes.
