Jack Newton Pierce, 85, of Greenville, husband of Gwendolyn Pierce, went home to be with our Lord Saturday, June 24, 2023.
Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Willie Isom and Ellie Pearl Chandler Pierce.
In addition to his wife, Gwen, he is survived by two daughters, Laurie Jones (David) and Dana Pierce; granddaughter, Lindsey Jones; and grandson, Andrew Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Betty Mae Grissop, and two brothers, Bill and James Pierce.
Mr. Pierce was a member of Tremont Church of God, where he served as an usher for more than 60 years.
Jack was a 1956 graduate of Parker High School and was proud to say he earned his PHD (Parker High Diploma).
He worked as a Purchasing Agent prior to retiring from Hajoca. He returned to work at Stover Mechanical as the Safety Director and retired the second time at the age of 80.
Jack was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Clemson football and being the voice of the Carolina High School Trojans football team for 20 years.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Tremont Church of God. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary, with burial to follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
