Christian Brookshire left a message on June 1, 2023:
I truly don’t even know where to begin. My Papa has been such a huge part of my life and always made me feel so loved. Some of my earliest memories are from our Friday nights that became such a special tradition. Without fail, I knew Papa would pick me up on Friday each week and take me to pick out a treat at the CVS by his house before heading to whatever fun thing he could find for us to do. If the circus or state fair were in town then you could bet that Papa was going to take me. Even when I became older, he built new traditions for us like seeing Shaniah Twain in concert every year she toured. I will always think of him with any song I hear of hers. Papa also is why I was able to get my dog, Mila, who as many of you know became his pride and joy too. There was an ongoing joke that even though I don’t have any kids, she was just as special to him as any great grand child would be. He never would go more than a few days without texting to check in on us and always made sure to tell me to give Mila hugs for him too. I will miss seeing those weekly “Hey Pee Wee!” messages pop up on my phone. I will miss everything about him. There is no way for me to express how grateful I am for the role he played and all the ways he was involved in my life. He was the best Papa anyone could have asked for. I will carry him with me always. We love you, Papa. Until we meet again <3 - Pee Wee & Mila

Our hearts are so broken and sad at the loss of our dear, faithful, and caring neighbor and friend! We loved you, and we miss you Mr. Jim! Hunter and I will always remember your kindnesses to us over these past 25 years of being neighbors. Our hearts have a huge hole in them! But in the past, when I asked you, you assured me that you had asked Jesus to be your Savior, and so we know we will get to be with you again one day in Heaven, where we will never have to say goodbye again! You are now safe in the arms of JESUS. That brings comfort to our hearts.
