James “Nathan” Morgan, 86, beloved husband of Wadella “Dell” Morgan, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022.
Born in Pickens, SC, he was the son of the late E.E. and Dora Mae Norris Morgan.
Nathan proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He was an honorable man of strong character that had a passion for helping children become the best that they could be. Nathan was the President of the Berea Youth Association where he coached many baseball and softball teams over the years. He loved being a part of an organization that enhances children’s lives in a positive manner. For Nathan, his biggest love and joy was his family and spending time with them. His presence will be greatly missed but his legacy of love will carry on through his loved ones.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by son, Steve Morgan (Patti); grandson, Gregory Nathaniel Morgan; granddaughter, Alisha Howe; great-grandchildren, Mason and Amberly; sister, Mary Frances Bennett; a niece; and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Rhonda Morgan Howe.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery West.
