James ?Jim? Walter Moon III, 61, of 25 Blakely Avenue, husband of Elizabeth Holand Moon, died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late James Walter Moon, Jr. and Mildred Martin Moon. Mr. Moon was the owner of Moon?s Nursery and Garden Center in Greenville during the 1970?s. He served for 20 years at Greenville Technical College in many capacities including administration, teaching, and counseling. He attended Clemson Universtiy, received his Bachelors in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia, and his Masters in Education from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Moon was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church. He was a former President of the Augusta Road Ruritan Club, a 1963 graduate of Greenville High School, a member of Moose Lodge #749 and a Shriner. He was also an avid Clemson fan and an IPTAY Life Donor. Mr. Moon enjoyed collecting rare antique clocks, was a skilled woodworker, and a stained glass artisan. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Moon and W. Ray Bagwell of Pelzer; a son and daughter-in-law, James Walter Moon IV and Suzanne Massey Moon of Greenville; four grandchildren, Luke Alton Bagwell, James Walter Moon V, Ashlee Elizabeth Bagwell, and David Grant Moon; a sister, Susan Moon Chapman of Moonville; and two brothers, John E. Moon of New Orleans, LA., and Joseph T. Moon of Greenville. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 31, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitaiton will be held prior to the services from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m.at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bethuel Baptist Church Cemetery.
