Kathy Koenig left a message on December 19, 2023:
Debbie, Cam and Ben: I am just stunned! Jeff was the best coworker I ever had. I loved working with him. We worked so hard but had so much fun! He would come in on Fridays and first thing he would ask me "we going to the creek today?"--his favorite barbecue joint, (Brushy Creek). We shared our love of sports, the fact we were NOT from SC, bands and of course our families! His love for his Iowa family was always so evident. His love for you Debbie and fun you had together was always shared. He was so proud of being a dad. Even after we separated our work live,, we would run into each other and catch up like we never missed a beat! I can smile thinking of his laugh. It was silly! I always think of him when the Iowa Hawkeyes play in any sport! How lucky I am to have had him as a friend for 30 years!

My greatest memory is from Wes and Camren’s wedding day. After I got my hair and makeup done, I found myself sitting next to Jeff watching Iowa football on his phone. Later that evening, he told me how glad he was that Camren and I had met through work and became such good friends. I’ll cherish that always. Sending all my love to your family, I’m so incredibly sorry.

Joe Golob left a message on December 18, 2023:
It has been 40 years since I first went to work at St. Francis. Early on, I got to work with and to know Debbie. It was a bit later that I met Jeff, collaborating on budget issues, and we became friends. We much enjoyed sharing the game of golf, having a few beers and maybe even a cigar. Years later, I was very happy to hear that these two friends had somehow gotten together and would later marry. Probably 25 years ago, Jeff joined me on a guys golf weekend at Myrtle Beach. He informed me that Debbie had approved his participation because she felt he wouldn't get into trouble if he was with me. That encouraged me to be on my best behavior, and we still had a great time. Another golf outing that Jeff and I got to share about 20 years ago was at the BMW Charity Golf Classic. Bill Munley had given me some VIP passes and, with them, we could go into any of the venues at the Cliffs Valley Country Club, during the tournament, and enjoy all the food and libations we wanted, for free. We thought we were "uptown" and didn't know how to act, especially when we were eating lunch in the Clubhouse and Jack Nicklaus and his whole family sat down at the table next to us. I feel I'm rambling, but all my memories of Jeff are good ones. He was a prince of a guy and he got to marry a princess. God bless you all!

Jeff was an amazing mentor, colleague and friend. His personality remained as warm, kind and human as the day I first met him. I never stopped listening to or learning from Jeff and for that I am profoundly grateful. Each person should have a Jeff Skelton in their life. I will greatly miss him.

Debbie, Camren, and Ben, Words can’t express how sad I am for your loss. Jeff had the ability to bring a smile to your face every time you saw him. He was so devoted to your family and loved spending time with all of you and your friends. Devin loved spending time at your house and watching Iowa football. Jeff was such an incredible husband, Dad, and friend. I and my family have been blessed by knowing Jeff and having him in our lives. I hope and pray that you can find comfort and peace in knowing what he meant to so many. Love to all of you, Maureen
